Saint Porphyrios: «A time will come when they will give everyone a card…»
At one point, entirely unexpectedly, Saint Porphyrios said the following, which made a great impression on us: and then you will hear on the television: "They stole Gerasimos's card, went to the bank and took out all his money"!
After a while they will say again: "They took so-and-so's card and stole all his money," and this will keep repeating…
Everything they say will be lies…
Then they will tell you: "So that they can't steal your card, put your personal number and your details on yourselves, that is, be sealed, and no one will be able to steal them from you any longer. That is how the problem will be solved…"!
These are their plans.
We were left speechless for a while. No one spoke. I was thinking: "What is this that the Elder said? What incredible things he is telling us now…". The others thought the same, because in 1982 it seemed unbelievable that we would all have a single card with all our details (identity card, tax number, bank book… etc.). Then the conversation continued normally about the Monastery…
