That morning, Flight Lieutenant Nikos Sialmas was called upon, in his "second-generation" Mirage F-1CG, to intercept the then brand-new "third-generation" acquisition of the Turkish air force, the F-16C. The dogfight took place near the area of Agios Efstratios.
There Nikos Sialmas was killed… IMMORTAL
