In our time, it is a fact that we are going through an unprecedented crisis. Great is our pain to see, in an alarmingly high percentage, our people, endowed with so many gifts from God, having lost their way and our young people, without values and ideals, faltering in the darkness of passions and many, ultimately, being destroyed.
Nevertheless, in the midst of the widespread crisis, one finds that there is repentance and worthy people, with spiritual life, with abilities and a willingness to help, who, however, struggle alone.
How is it possible for all those who love our values and seek unity to unite and cooperate? After much thought, we decided to establish and organize the Association "UNITED ROMANIA", or "E.RO" for short, which is a center of united effort for the study, experience, preservation and promotion of our values. It is an effort that fights for the unity of our Nation based on our values, for this reason it collaborates and promotes the work of other Foundations, Associations, Societies, Unions, Organizations, bodies and individuals, who agree with the Spirit and goals of our Association, with the aim of awakening and turning towards our values. For our long-desired unity, we will be the humble clay that connects and holds the stones of the building.
The effort is inherent. It comes from the bowels of our people, who love their values and want their unity. This is also confirmed by the willing and massive participation of those who are informed about the Association. It is made up of members who are united by love for our values, which constitute the soul of our Nation. Without them, it is not possible for us to exist as free individuals and as a Nation. If we keep them, they will protect us, and if we abandon them, we will disappear.
According to the statute, the purposes of our Association are:
‒ The deeper knowledge, experience, defense and promotion of the spiritual values that compose our identity and characterize our individuality as Orthodox Greeks. These values are more specifically:
‒ The Orthodox faith of our fathers in our triune God and the love for the Church, the treasury of grace, the port of our salvation and the ark of our Nation.
‒ Our centuries-old, turbulent and extremely instructive history.
‒ The God-created institution of the family, which constitutes the cell of the social body and the “domestic Church”.
‒ The incomparable Greek language, in which by divine providence the Gospel of the revealed Truth and the Greek-Christian literature were written.
‒ Our Greek Orthodox tradition, which constitutes the memory of the people.
Our Association is in no way related to politics, therefore active political figures are not accepted as members. It observes the laws, respects the democratic system and completely adopts good morals. It is not competitive or a substitute for other state institutions or more ecclesiastical ones. It does not have clergy as members, because we all belong to our Orthodox Church, and we are all members of a parish. Our events are held with Hierarchical and priestly blessings and usually with the help of priests in churches or halls and spiritual centers.
It is not yet a new ideological current nor a different social system nor a social, political or religious organization. It is a simple center, which aims at the joint study and promotion of our spiritual values, in a legal and democratic manner and with every modern means of communication (radio, television, publications, internet, events), with the ultimate goal of giving hope, ideals and vision to modern Greeks, through education, correct information and the promotion of healthy models, with the central goal of helping the family and youth.
The principles and objectives of the Association are stable and immutable elements, but the way, means and actions to fulfill them are subject to dialogue and criticism. The exchange of views is guaranteed and proposals that are effective in achieving the goals of the Association are adopted. We will not enter into polemics with evil or into confrontations and counter-arguments, but our motto is: “Conquer evil with good” or, more simply, let good abound in a good way so that evil may disappear.
The Association may also offer its services selflessly as friends or associates, capable and suitable persons who do not belong to it, but who embrace its goals.
